For Travelling

In England it is summer holiday time (yes really the sun is shining as I type this!) when many people will travel near and far to seek rest and recreation, or to be with their friends or family. Here is a prayer from the Celtic tradition you may wish to use as you think of those close to you setting out on a journey, or you may wish to adapt it for your own travels.

May the God of peace guard
The door to your house,
The door of your heart.
May the road rise to meet you,
And the sun stand at your shoulder.
May the wind be always at your back,
And the rains fall softly upon your fields.
May life itself befriend you
Each day, each night,
Each step of your journey.
