Holy Week

The 2 quotations are from Luke's Gospel account of Jesus' approach to Jerusalem (chapter 19; verse 38) and later as Jesus is taken to the Roman governor, Pilate. (chapter 23; verses 18 and 21)
The crowd cried out:
"Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!"
We join in and wave
Cheering the saviour who will transform our lives
The crowd cried out:
"Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"
We join with them
Calling for peace and boasting God's glory
The crowd cried out:
"Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!"
We join the mob
Chasing our own plans, pushing Jesus aside
The crowd cried out:
"Crucify him! Crucify him!"
We join our voices with theirs
Leaving Jesus at the altar, we grasp for our riches
Lord, when the crowd cries out
May our response be to listen, to them and to you
Lord, when the crowd cries out
May we hear hear your voice above the storm
Lord, when the crowd cries out
May we have the courage to proclaim Your way.
