Old Stable
Prayers from the Old Stable Services of Dedication and
Celebration, on Sunday 12th August 2001.
The first three prayers were written and read by young
people (Robert Rand, Rachel & Sarah Hancock, Hannah Fleming, Jessie
Meteau, Aisling Keats and Vanessa Lloyd) from churches in the town and
the last prayer was written and given by Jean-Gabriel Tarassenko, his
grandparents being from the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
We pray for:
A place where you can trust people
A place to feel safe
A place to talk to Christians
A place to buy Christian books and Bibles
A place to meet other Christians
A place to have fun
A place where young people can go.
We pray for:
People who are friendly
People who are trustworthy
People who are helpful
People who are caring
People who are nice
People who are not racist
People who are tolerant.
We pray for:
A future where people can pray
A future where the Centre is growing
A future where we can find peace
A future where we have somewhere to read
A future where there is a place for food and drink
A future where people can carry on making new friends
A future where people can learn about Christianity
A future where help can be found for problems and worries
A future that is safe
A future with hope and joy.
Amen.
We want to praise your Name O Lord. You have been so faithful in not failing
one word of Your promise to bring this project to completion.
May You keep Your presence day and night over this place so that every
visitor, Christian or not, may find peace and joy here.
We do pray You to bring peace to the minds and hearts to all who work
here, and to every visitor who comes.
Help us day and night to remember that as we serve food and drinks, we
may see Jesus Christ who is the real food and drink to everyone.
And as we sell books and CDs, we see that the true word is the word of
the Lord.
And when we encounter hardship, give us the strength and wisdom to overcome
losses. Because we want to see You Lord, who has made everything work
towards the good.
May the power of God bless this place and the people here, for Your glory.
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen
