Getting Involved

Swanage Christian Centre depends entirely on the support of local Christians as the only paid staff are the customer service staff each day. All the rest of us are volunteers and every team could do with extra members!

• Trustees offer support and skill to direct the Centre. They are appointed by Churches Together in Swanage and District and usually meet 4 times a year. They need specific officers like a secretary and treasurer who may not be full trustees.
• Shop volunteers usually offer 2 hours per week to make tea and coffee, tidy and maintain the stock and listen to customers
• Practical volunteers help with maintenance and DIY and looking after shopfront flowers in summer.
• Christian Listeners are trained to offer a high standard service to clients
• Baking volunteers offer a cake or two per month to sell with drinks.
• Specific activities like English Afternoon Tea and Coastal Credit Union need dedicated volunteers to run them
• Financial support is welcome as we are a mission organisation requiring funds for some of our activities. As we are a charity, you can Gift Aid your donation, if you are eligible.
• Prayer undergirds all our work. Join us on Tuesday mornings at 9.00am
